Deepening our Awareness in the Heart of the City: A Mindfulness-based City Retreat

This non-residential ‘city’ retreat is an opportunity to deepen and refresh personal mindfulness practice.

Non-residential retreats are an established way of deepening and broadening one’s Mindfulness practice. They invite you to maintain a retreat ethos in your home setting between the days of the retreat itself, so as to cultivate a continuous practice over the three days. 

To enable this there will be a simple shared supper early Saturday evening, to support the important community dimension and continuity overnight through to Sunday morning. 

We will practice together in silence, stillness and movement in a beautiful and quiet city space, using the transitions of arriving and leaving, eating and resting as part of the retreat.  The retreat will include guided and silent practice with periods of walking and mindful movement. We will have the opportunity of sustained periods of silence to enable increased connection with inner experience. There will also be opportunities for group exchanges and the teacher will be available to talk to people individually. 


Who is the retreat for?

This retreat is suitable for anyone who has attended an eight-week Mindfulness-Based Course.  

It is particularly suitable as an introduction for those who have never been on a retreat before and also for more experienced practitioners whose home commitments make it difficult to go on residential retreat. 


What are the requirements to attend?

Prior attendance at an eight-week Mindfulness-Based Course.


Timings:

Friday 6:30pm – 8:30pm 

Saturday  9:30am  – 7.30pm (bringing lunch to share) 

Sunday 9:30am – 4:00pm 


Location:

Greencoat Place 

24 Greencoat Place is a short walk from Victoria Rail, Coach and Bus Stations. The postcode is SW1P 1RD, however the postcode SW1P 1BE gets a more accurate result in satellite navigation and online mapping services. Greencoat Place is 10 minutes on foot from Victoria underground station and 15 minutes from St James’s Park. 


What to bring/wear:

Please bring your own equipment (e.g. mats, cushions and blankets) if possible. We also recommend that you dress in layers in case the room is warm or cold.

Please bring simple, finger food to share for lunch on Saturday.  However, if you have any specific diet needs, then please do feel free to bring your own packed lunch. 


Our rate is all-inclusive and has no hidden extras. 

Full Rate: £160.00


Our application and payment process involves the following steps:

  1. We receive your application form and assess it to ensure that this retreat is suitable for you. We endeavour to make assessments within a week but if the retreat leader is on annual leave or on retreat then this may take a little bit longer.
  2. Upon offering you a place we will then invoice you for the full amount. 
  3. Your place is fully confirmed once we receive your full retreat payment.
  4. We will email you the joining instructions in advance of the course.
