Educational and Supervisory Frameworks Informing Mindfulness-based Supervision
This one-day event will provide an introduction to and overview of supervision theories and practice. It is a stand-alone event or perfect in combination with the three-day mindfulness-based supervision training offered by CMRP.
Using a mixture of teaching, reflection, pair and group dialogue, the content of the day will explore: What is supervision? What skills are needed to be a good supervisor? What are the functions of supervision? How do we learn and teach? Developmental Models. Principles of Learning Theory, and The Supervisory Relationship.
Who is this day for?
The day will be of interest to: mindfulness-based teachers who may become supervisors in the future; existing mindfulness-based supervisors with little experience of supervision in other contexts; or existing mindfulness-based supervisors who want an update about generic supervision theory and practice.
Greencoat Place, London, SW1P 1RD. Greencoat Place is a five-minute walk from Victoria rail and underground station.
Our trainers are all members of the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice (CMRP) training team. All have been extensively trained in this approach and engage in a rigorous ongoing process of training and supervision. We use strict criteria when selecting teachers/trainers to work with us.
Alison Evans has a passionate interest in Mindfulness-based Supervision and focuses her work in this area as both the Supervision Lead in The Mindfulness Network and Supervision Trainer with CMRP at Bangor University.
